MidCo Care is a fast-growing health and social care agency and services provider. We work with local councils, NHS Trusts, as well as private hospitals and care homes, to ensure their staffing needs are met.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Officer to be based at our offices in London.
As a Procurements Officer, you will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, services, negotiating contracts, tendering for new work, procuring new service users and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.
The ideal candidate will be have previous experience of working in the care sector.
Duties and responsibilities
- Overseeing the supply chain process of the company, maintaining relationships including tendering for work and actioning tender related outcomes ;
- Assessing bids from suppliers, finding s suppliers and negotiating prices;
- NegotiatIng contracts with customers, suppliers and specifying details of goods or services required or services delivered;
- Participate in an on-call rota every four weeks;
- Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports;
- Developing plans for purchasing services, and supplies
- Attending service provider engagements, shows and demonstrations to research new service offerings and suppliers.
Person Specification
- Excellent written communication skills;
- Ability to write notes, reports, draft proposals and tenders;
- Good analytical ability and strategic thinking;
- Knowledge of and familiarity with the UK care sector;
- Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly;
- A commitment to continuous service improvement and to growing the business;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Problem solving skills
- Right to work in the UK
- A full UK driving licence

- 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm with some weekend availability
